"Among the gods, Ares was recognized by his bronze armor; he brandished a spear in battle. His keen and sacred birds were the barn owl, woodpecker, the eagle owl and, especially in the south, the vulture."
Ares is the son of Zeus and Hera. Though often referred to as the Olympian god of warfare, he is more accurately the god of savage warfare, or bloodlust, or slaughter personified.
Perhaps this will be a series.. I'm not sure yet. I wanted to once more do something a little different, but staying in tune with the same 'style' I've been playing with.
Very detailed piece. I think it represents Ares quite well. Please continue this series!

The beauty of life is, while we cannot undo what is done, we can see it, understand it, learn from it and change. So that every new moment is spent not in regret, guilt, fear or anger, but in wisdom, understanding and love. Jennifer Edwards
Oooh My!!! This is superb!..You did a wonderful job bringing it all together, the vultures and bones work perfect here, and the two planet background sits softly superior in the background of this Greek piece. Outstanding!

I'm sort of weary about this one - not sure if I put too much in it.
