The Statue

Each night, she awakens. Coming alive at the touch of moonlight and shedding the shell of stone she wears, only to be human. That is, until the sun rises the next morning..

I wanted to take a statue and make it human. Then I thought further about the process and decided upon this piece of art. It shows her peeling back the layers of the statue to reveal the flesh underneath.

This was also an exercise in lighting as it is one common issue I tend to have.
